Hello Bert Ambrose School Community!

My name is Jillisa Doherty and I am teaching grade 2 / 3 at Bert Ambrose this year. I am in my fourth year of teaching and I have always loved working with children. After I graduated high school, I lived in Europe as a nanny for a year and volunteered at a Montessori school there. When I returned to Canada, I attended Vancouver Island University, followed by Northern Lights College and completed my teaching certification through the AHCOTE program here in Fort St. John. I have lived in Fort St. John for 14 years now. Wow! It is incredible how fast the time flies! I am a mom of 2 wonderful children and they are the light of my life. When I am not busy learning and playing with my students in class, I enjoy spending time with my children at home and in the community. I also enjoy playing the piano, crafting and being in nature. I am looking forward to a wonderful year with everyone in the Gators community and I am so happy to be a part of such an amazing school!
