First Week of October!

Last week was busy!  The Terry Fox Run was a wonderful day and it was amazing how many students ran for the entire time.  A big thank you goes out to those who were able to make a donation to the Terry Fox foundation, our leadership students who encouraged others to run the course, parents who could join in and Mrs. Fraser for organizing the event!  Orange Shirt Day was also a success! Many students wore their orange shirts and thanks to Mrs. Cooper and Mrs. Lee our students are more informed about the impact of Residential Schools through presentations, books, videos and the orange hand projects posted in the front window.

This week we have three events:
-Picture Day is Monday – remember to bring your envelop with your order in!
-Cross Country Running is Wednesday – check with your coach for details.
-One-Bag Challenge is all week – As part of the Bert Ambrose vision “Striving to reach our potential to make tomorrow a better place” our school is participating in the One-Bag Challenge from Monday October 3rd to Friday, October 7th whereby, each classroom will be given a backpack to fill with non-perishable foods to be collected by the 1st Fort St John Scouting group and delivered to the Women’s Resource Society Outreach Store,   which has seen an increase in use this year by over 50%.  We hope Bert Ambrose students can each bring in a non-perishable food item to fill a back back provided by the school.
– Newsletter will be coming out this week posted on the website and unfortunately only in paper copy.  We are almost ready to send information in an email, which is very exciting, thanks!
