Good evening!
We had a fantastic first week back to school despite the extremely cold temperatures for most of the week. Next week looks like a wide range of temperatures ranging from -1 C to -21 C so it will be important to make sure your child has appropriate winter clothing to accommodate sudden temperature changes.
We were very fortunate to have best-selling author Sigmund Brouwer join us last Friday. Picutres have been posted on the Bert Ambrose FaceBook page so please take a moment to check them out if you have not seen them already. Additionally, Sigmund is offering a parent/child event on Tuesday, January 15th from 6:30-7:30 at Margaret Ma Murray School.  
This week we have Angie Pomeroy, the dance lady, at our school and all classes will be participating in daily dance classes. Parents/guardians are welcome to join us … but please note you will be asked to participate rather than sit on the sidelines. Don’t forget our Family Dance on Thursday, January 17 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. It is always a wonderful event!
If you enjoy watching the Huskies and would like a child’s pass to the games, please send me an email or stop by the office. I have passes available and would like to make sure they go to families who will use them. These will be available on a first-come basis.
This next item seems trivial but coud I remind you to please send a spoon or fork in your child’s lunch if this utensil is required. We have MANY students coming to the office on a daily basis needing spoons and forks and are finding it difficult to keep up with the demand. Thank you!
Kelly Herriot has organized another opportunity for parents and staff to purchase items for PINK SHIRT DAY which is Feburary 27th. Please check your email – ordering is available until Sunday, January 20th.
Basketball season has started … please check the calendar on the school website for practice and game times. Thank you to Miss Brekkas for all of her work organizing our sports activities; and a special thank you to parents and staff for taking on coaching duties. We appreciate your time and the sharing of your passion/knowledge.
