Hello everyone,
This is appempt #2 for the message as my inquisitive kitten managed to send the first one into cyberspace! How I love redoing tasks … it’s a good thing she is rather sweet!
I hope families are enjoying the 4-day break from routine and that our students have had lots of opportunities to “unplug” and enoy this wonderful weather we are having. I know I would much prefer to be outside than sitting in front of the computer catching up on school tasks.
On Thursday we are having PAJAMA DAY – students and staff (and volunteering parents) are invited to come to school in their PJs. At the last PAC meeting, a request was made to include a few more special/fun days so you can look forward to the following:
- Pajama Day – January 31
- Wacky Hair Day – March 8
- Tacky Tourist Day – May 31
This Friday, we will be having our kick-off assembly for Jump Rope for Heart. Our actual Jump Day will be Friday, February 15th. All students will be participating in this skipping event regardless of whether they have collected pledges. A note explaining how to collect pledges online will be coming home on Friday. If you would prefer that your child collect the money and pledges using an envelope, envelopes will be available from your child’s teacher or from the office. Thank you to everyone who finds the time to help their child collect pledges. Proceeds go toward the Heart and Stroke Foundation to help those with heart issues. A special thank you to Mrs. Barr for coordinating this event for our school.
Lastly, I would like to take a moment to acknowledge all of the work done in our schools by our support staff. This includes our wonderful Mrs. Selin in the office, 19 Educational Assistants, and two custodians. Our school would not be the amazing place it is without the efforts of these individuals.
Have a great Monday and we look forward to welcoming your children back to school on Tuesday!
Ms. Wright
