I think I can safely say we all survived a very busy first week back to school after Spring Break which included a Cultural Performance (Safire – Science in the Circus), the start of our Ready, Set, Learn preschool program for 3 and 4 year olds, a special visit from Olympic Athlete, Mimi Rahneva, and Jersey Day! As we had already scheduled our own Jersey Day, we went ahead with the selected day last Friday although the National Green Shirt Day was today and many schools will be honouring the date tomorrow (Monday). One aspect of the Green Shirt Day is to bring awareness to Organ Donation so I have included a link for anyone who may like to look into this further.
Register to be an Organ Donor. Live Life. Pass it On.
Badminton season is underway. If your child has joined this activity, please mark Thursday, April 25 (after school) and Friday, April 26 (all day) on your calendars as these are the dates for the District Badminton Tournament. Thank you to Miss Brekkas, Mrs. Lee, and Mrs. Holloway for taking on the coaching/practice duties for this school sport.
The Ministry of Education sends out Student, Parent and Staff Learning Surveys each spring. The target grade level for these is Grade 4 and our students will be completing the short 20 minute survey before the end of April. (These were formerly called Satisfaction Surveys.) Parents of Grade 4 students can expect a separate email with information related to how to log in and complete the survey. Your answers are confidential and I would encourage you to please complete this short survey as it helps provide your administration team with a snapshot of parental opinion about our school. Thank you!
The magnetic attraction of water to our students remains one of life’s great mysteries! Please send a change of clothes in your child’s backpack if they belong to the category of students who are instinctively drawn to the puddles and mud!
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
