GoByBikeBC

Thank you to Mrs. Tacey and her class for all of their work to organize and promote
GoByBike/Scooter week. It was wonderful to see how many students and staff chose to
bike or scooter to school.

Mrs. Cronin’s Trip to the Farm

On Friday Ms. Cronin’s grade 3/4 class attended a field trip at Peace Vale Farm. The students enjoyed a day of learning about various farming skills and where our food comes from. We also got to see a brand new calf that was less than one hour old!

Bouldering Club

The Bert Ambrose Bouldering Club is an afterschool sports program geared towards developing participants’ rock climbing technique, strength, balance, and self-esteem.
Bouldering is a specific discipline within rock climbing that doesn’t use harnesses and ropes but relies on crash mats and relatively short climbing routes to ensure safety.

Bulletin Board

Mrs. Lee works one day per week as our Social-Emotional Learning Teacher. She recently completed an activity called “Flip That Flop” with our primary students. This activity was about dealing with failure and making mistakes. Classes watched the YouTube video (seen below) and then shared different mistakes they have made.

“Students were learning beat, rhythm and tempo as themes. They explored this through the use of ukulele’s and xylophones as well as had the chance to try the bongos, tambourines, maracas and rhythm sticks. We had some real stars and everyone had the chance to showcase their skills.
