On Friday, our class had an amazing opportunity to create keepsake bags with Mrs. McEachern. We learned that these traditional Aboriginal bags are used to store items that are important and unique to each individual. Each student was able to sew and decorate a leather keepsake bag.

Jump Rope Fun
Today we held our annual Jump Rope for Heart Challenge. Students in all grades participated in jumping activities in the gym. Thanks to Mrs. Barr and Mrs. London and the leadership classes for organizing and hosting this event!

Mrs. Holloway’s class, along with the other primary classes, are working on accepting differences to help prevent bullying. Todd Parr’s book, It’s Okay to be Different, was the inspiration for the project. Check out the many ‘different’
Girls A Basketball Game Feb 5 CANCELLED
The Girls A team basket ball game scheduled for Feb 5 has been CANCELLED. Students will need to be picked up at Ambrose as per usual. Thanks.
Ready, Set, Learn
Registration is now open for Ready, Set, Learn. This is an interactive program designed to help introduce your 3 or 4 year old to the school environment. The dates are as follows:
April 3,10,17 and May 1 at 1:30 -2:30 in the Bert Ambrose Library.Kindergarten Registration
We are now accepting Kindergarten Registrations. Registration packages can be picked up at the office from 8-3:15.
Children who will be five (5) years of age by December 31, 2019 are eligible for registration in Kindergarten.NID- Jan 25/Jan28
Just a reminder that there is no school on Friday, Jan 25 and Monday, Jan 28. These are Non Instructional Days for the students. Also a reminder that most school events are posted on the calendar link that is on our webpage.

Spaghetti Bridge Building
Bert Ambrose School had 17 Grade 6 students participating the District Bridge Building Competition on Friday, January 18. All five teams completed their bridges in the required time. Three out of five bridges successfully supported a weight of 1kg for one minute.
